Sandy is one of our highest-volume service areas. The combination of long commute corridors (I-15, State Street, 9000 South), proximity to Little Cottonwood Canyon, and a high concentration of luxury daily drivers means Sandy vehicles take a beating in ways most owners don't realize until they see their paint in direct sunlight.
What we see most often on Sandy vehicles
Ski-season grit from Little Cottonwood and Big Cottonwood. Sandy is the staging point for both canyons. Cars that head up to Snowbird, Alta, Solitude, or Brighton through the winter accumulate a brutal combination of road salt brine, anti-skid grit (literally crushed rock), and brake dust from descending the canyon. The grit is particularly damaging — it works into wheel wells, rocker panels, and the lower 12 inches of every panel. Standard washes don't touch it. Iron decon and a dedicated lowers wash are non-negotiable on these vehicles.
Highway brake dust on west-side commuters. Cars driven daily up I-15 to Salt Lake or south to Lehi accumulate hot iron particles from brake pads. These bond to clear coat (especially on the rear panels in front of trailing vehicles) within weeks. You can feel them as a gritty texture even after a wash. Iron decon dissolves them; clay treatment removes any that remain. Most "professional" car washes skip this step entirely.
UV-baked dashes and trim on south-facing driveways. Sandy sits in a relatively flat part of the valley with limited tree cover in newer neighborhoods. South-facing driveways in Pepperwood, Hidden Valley, and Hidden Pines take direct sun for 6+ hours a day in summer. Interior dashboards, leather, and exterior trim age noticeably faster here. Interior conditioning and trim restoration on these vehicles isn't cosmetic — it's preservation, and starting it before you see visible cracking saves an interior swap years down the road.
Construction site overspray. Sandy has had heavy residential and commercial development through the 2020s. If your car's been parked near any active construction (much of South Sandy, the Quarry Bend area, the Cairns development), expect to find stucco overspray, paint mist, and concrete dust embedded in the clear coat. None of this comes off with soap. A real decon process catches it; ignoring it means it gets ground deeper with every wash.

Pricing in Sandy
Same pricing as the rest of the valley — no travel surcharge for any Sandy ZIP. Full pricing on the services page.
If you're a regular canyon driver, ask about our maintenance interval program — we keep the lowers, wheels, and decon needs ahead of buildup with shorter visits every 4–6 weeks rather than one major detail twice a year. Usually works out cheaper and the car stays in noticeably better condition.
