Murray sits at the geographic center of the Salt Lake Valley, which means most of our Murray customers are commuters. Easy I-15 and I-215 access, the State Street corridor, and the 5400 South spine all converge here. Most cars in Murray put on more miles per year than the valley average — and the paint shows it.
What we see most often on Murray vehicles
Highway grime and bug acid on front-ends. Heavy I-15 and I-215 access means a lot of windshield-and-front-bumper time. Bug remains from spring through fall etch into clear coat within hours of being splattered, especially during the hot stretch of August. We see far more bug-acid damage on Murray cars than any other service area. Caught within a few days, it cleans up. Left through a hot week, it requires polishing.
Brake dust on the rear panels. Highway commuting at 65–75 mph for an hour a day produces enormous brake dust accumulation, particularly on the rear panels of cars in heavy stop-and-go traffic. Iron particles from brake pads bond fast to clear coat. By 30,000 miles of commute, most cars have visibly embedded iron on the rear wheels, rear bumper, and lower quarter panels. An iron decon spray dissolves these without contact — much safer than trying to scrub them off with a mitt.
Hot-side parking lot exposure. Murray has a high concentration of strip-mall offices, retail centers, and medical buildings. Cars parked in unshaded asphalt lots all day take direct UV and reflected heat from the asphalt, which accelerates clear coat oxidation and interior dashboard cracking. Light-colored cars handle this better; dark-colored cars (especially black and dark blue) need more frequent protective work to keep up.
Construction and roadwork debris. Murray has had ongoing UDOT projects along I-15 and 5300 South for years. Sealcoat overspray, paint mist from striping crews, and asphalt residue end up on every car that's parked or driven near active work zones. None of this comes off with soap. A real decontamination process catches it — tar remover for asphalt, dedicated overspray clay or an aggressive iron remover for the rest.
Fleet vehicles and work trucks. A noticeable portion of our Murray work is fleet — service vans, plumbing trucks, contractor SUVs. These vehicles need a different approach than personal cars: faster turnaround, more focus on visual professionalism (clean windows, bright tires, no streaks on the wraps), and longer-lasting protective coatings since the customer-facing window matters every day. Ask about our fleet schedule if you run multiple vehicles.

Pricing in Murray
Same pricing as the rest of the valley — no travel surcharge for any Murray ZIP. Full pricing on the services page.
If you commute heavily, ask about a recurring maintenance interval. Cars that get a proper wash and decon every 6 weeks stay in dramatically better shape than cars that get a "big detail" twice a year — and the math works out better too.
